Monthly Meetings
Monthly Meetings are usually the second Saturday
of each month from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Monthly Meetings are the high points of the Guild's existence.
Lunch is usually served and some type demonstration is usually scheduled.
Although they may be provided, bring eye protection and ear
plugs (for yourself and others you bring) to these events.
You may want to bring gloves, your favorite hammer and a pair of
tongs. There may be an opportunity for you to be involved in
practice and learning or you might be called upon to do a demo or
assist in one.
Charge:
Bring something for
Iron in
the Hat (IITH), buy some IITH tickets, and/or bring a dish for
lunch. All these things support the Guild.
Meeting Schedule:
July 10 - Robert Bean
August 14 - Bodie Banton Day: This will be a special day
to remember the passing of Bodie. This day will be unusual as
we do not have a demonstration planned, rather we wish to honor
Bodie by helping his family at their home site. Obviously
there are always things that need "fixin-up" or "tendin-to" and we
will be there to do that.
We are asking those who have access to firewood, to bring a load
with them to donate to Bodie's family. We will be stacking
wood, cutting grass, spreading mulch, whatever needs to be done.
We plan to have a pot-luck meal, so be sure to bring a few
items for that as we do not want Bodie's family to have to
prepare anything!
We are also asking that members forge a rose (or other type
flower) in memory of Bodie
and we will donate them as a group to the family. (Please contact
Mike Gillespie if you will be donating a flower so we can get an idea
of how many will be presented. Contact Mike at
info@expertmetalworks.com
We will have a memorial service for Bodie that day as well.
Another special event is planned to take place there that I can't
discuss here, you will have to be there to see it take place.
Don't forget Iron in the hat items!
