Central Virginia Blacksmith Guild meeting August 14, 2010 at Bodie Banton.

This meeting was a little bit different for the guild as we set aside this date to honor Bodie Banton who passed away May 9, 2010.  The guild decided we would clean up/fix up/repair whatever needed to be done at Bodies' home place.  We had a large group of guild members as well as many of Bodie's friends show up for this event.

Truckloads of firewood were delivered, split and stacked and repairs were made to a gate and a new storm door was installed.  Dead tree limbs were removed as well as one big tree that was in danger of falling onto the house.

Everybody pitched in and assisted in getting these tasks completed.  From young to old, everybody worked together, whether splitting firewood or loading trailers up with tree branches, we all worked until everything had been accomplished.

Afterwards we had a great pot-luck lunch and rest break.

Several members brought a forged flower and presented it to Bodie's family as a gift to remember Bodie and the impact he had with the many friends within the blacksmith guild.
