Central Virginia Blacksmith Guild meeting February 28, 2009 at Dan & Judy Boone's Pasture Party.

You can never leave Dan's shop without feeling you have visited with one of the greatest blacksmiths around!  Judy & Dan Boone host an annual "Pasture Party" that surely has to be one of the best events on the east coast of the USA!  Folks travel from near and far to attend this event.

The featured demonstrator this day was Phil Heath.
He is a very lively fellow both in his conversation and his blacksmith work.  He started off the day creating and forging a unique boot scraper.  Later he demonstrated how to make a cross and a unique way of riveting the pieces together.

All-together there were several hundred people attending this event.  (The outdoor burn barrel was also a big hit!)  Thanks to Judy & Dan Boone for all the hard work they and the volunteers put into making this a successful event!
